Why Choose the LF-4?
The LF-4 is designed for falconers who want strong transmitter output without the long antenna normally associated with higher-output telemetry.
Unlike our transmitters built around a traditional full-length antenna, the LF-4 is specifically tuned for a compact loaded antenna approximately 6.5 inches long. Combined with its lithium battery, magnetic on/off system, and rugged construction, the LF-4 offers a strong balance of signal performance, convenient operation, and practical battery life.
At approximately 7.5 grams, it is intended for medium and larger birds rather than applications where minimum transmitter weight is the primary concern.

Compact Loaded Antenna
The LF-4 is specifically tuned for use with our compact loaded antenna. At approximately 6.5 inches long, it provides a much shorter physical antenna than a traditional full-length telemetry antenna while maintaining the tracking performance the LF-4 was designed to deliver.
Replacement loaded antennas are available and can be changed if the original antenna becomes damaged or worn.

Our loaded antennas are approximately half the length of a traditional full-length antenna while providing similar tracking performance. Internal tuning components allow the antenna to remain compact without requiring the full wire length normally needed for the operating frequency.
At approximately 6.5 inches long, the loaded design provides a lower-profile antenna option for compatible L.L. Electronics transmitters while maintaining the dependable signal performance you expect in the field.
Replacement loaded antennas are available for Razor, LF-4, and XLF transmitters in several frequency ranges.

Battery Life & Magnetic Switching
The LF-4 uses a single 1/3N lithium battery. Under normal operating conditions, the transmitter provides about 10 days of operation before entering a reduced-power low-battery mode that provides roughly 3 additional days of operation.
Magnetic switching allows the transmitter to be turned on and off without opening the transmitter or removing the battery. This makes it convenient to prepare and fit the transmitter before a flight, then activate it with a magnet immediately before use.
Mounting Options
The LF-4 can be ordered in several mounting configurations:
Transmitter Only — For customers who already have their preferred mounting hardware.
Leather Bewit — A traditional leg-mount option.
Tail-Mount Wire Clip — For use with compatible tail-mount systems.

L.L. Electronics transmitters are available on a variety of radio-tracking frequencies.
