LL Electronics Biology and Research Transmitters

Years of Experience

We have made transmitters for universities and other federal and state agencies for 35 years, which have done research on different fish, reptile, bird and mammal species. Our tracking systems have been used in research for many years without problem. Eexperienced staff has seen it all enabling us to manufacture exactly what you need, as well as help you decide on the best equipment for the job.

Customizable Tracking Systems

The design of our transmitters are very flexible and can be modified for use on virtually any animal that may need to be studied. From extremely small birds to very large mammals, our transmitters will fit the extremes that researchers face. Transmitters are customizable to fit your the needs and specifications. We can manufacture transmitters with high output that can be tracked for miles, or we can make units that have battery lives measuring in months to years. All of our transmitters are designed with the best combination of battery life and output power possible.

Keeping it Simple

We believe that selecting a transmitter to use should be as simple as it is to use it. Here we show you a few of the basic units we make. All weights are with standard battery configuration and antenna. All transmitters are customizable in a wide variety of ways, from batteries used to mounting techniques to antenna lengths and gauges.

m4
LF1 357 RS 12T

6g
6 months
The standard Single Battery LF1 biology transmitter, like all our transmitters, is highly water resistant and customizable for different batteries, mounting techniques, antenna lengths and gauges and higher signal strength generation.

m1
LF1 1357 RS 12T
(Dual Battery)

8g
1 Year
This is the dual battery version of the transmitter listed above, this is a very popular transmitter for tracking turtle species, due to its ruggedness and length of life with an extra battery.
Yes

m3
LF1 1357 RS 12T (Saddle)

8g
1 Year
This is the 11357 structured in a different way to illustrate one of the ways these transmitters can be manipulated to suit various applications. This transmitter was saddled to better fit a snakes back when mounted, giving better contact area for an adhesive.
Yes

m2
LF2 CR2477 RS 12T

16.5g
Up to 2 Years
This is a higher output transmitter coupled with a larger battery, this would be ideal for very lengthy studies where a much larger search area is required.
Yes
m6
LF1 393 BP RS 8T
2.5g
100 days
This model is specially designed for a backpack mount and has tubes built in at the front and back of the transmitter for backpack straps.
Yes

m5
LF1 IC 379 RS 3T

0.7g
45 days
This minuscule transmitter is used for tracking very small animals. Originally designed to track hatchling snakes, this transmitter is fully water proof and can be modified to be mounted in a variety of ways.
Yes

Any of these research transmitters can be customized for more powerful output, longer battery life or smaller sizes by tuning and/or changing components. We will work with you to develop these models according to your needs. Something entirely new could even be designed for your application.

Sensitive, Powerful Receivers

What good is the perfect transmitter without a finely tuned, powerful receiver? We also manufacture the most sensitive receivers on the market. Our MN models are the perfect combination of size, sensitivity and power while the FL series are the mainstay of many researchers in the field today to their sheer ruggedness, power and sensitivity. Go to Receivers to see the most reliable and easy to use receivers available anywhere!
